which will probably be familiar to you almost

immediately if you are a fan of Rilo Kiley.

it's a line from the song "Silver Lining,"

which essentially served as my theme song

in life after leaving my abusive ex-boyfriend

and recreating my life on my own terms.

after i left, i bought a house, started kicking

butt at my then job, and made PRIDE

(which meant i was one of the top advisors

for the university for the year nationwide).

in '07, PRIDE included a free trip to Las Vegas.

i invited my interweb friend K8e to go along with me.

unfortunately, she was unable to make it due to

illness. but in preparation for the trip and to show

me how much she cared about me and how proud

she was of me for making big ass life changes,

she had this necklace made for me.

and i LURVE it.

and then in '08 K8e invited me along on a trip

to wyoming, where we visited Jackson's Hole.
