okay. i need your help. and your votes.

here's the deal.
i'm going to a Convention.
I work for the Texas Retired Teachers Association.
we are hosting the Convention in Dallas (starts next weekend).
So bear in mind, our guests are primarily
retired teachers. They are often elderly
and perhaps conservative.
I have 2 events I am trying to dress for.
1. A banquet (considered formal, but I am not supposed to
"outshine" the elderly people)
2. Officer's reception (not really formal, but I should look nice
because this will be the people who were elected to office)
I have several outfit options below. Can you please tell me
which outfit you like for which event, and why?
OUTFIT ONE
with a belt

without a belt

i'd wear another skirt underneath it to poof it up some:

the shoes:
So far I think outfit one is more suitable for the officer's reception.

OUTFIT TWO:
i'd wear pantyhose with this of course

the shoes:

OUTFIT THREE:
i'm having trouble keeping the zipper up
in the back because of my boobs.
so if i wore this, i'd need to wear something over it,
like so:

the shoes:

OUTFIT FOUR:
clearly this outfit is short so there's some options

a jacket:

a skirt underneath it:
i like it with the belt
so i don't consider not wearing the belt an option
this time around.

the shoes:

probable earrings:

OUTFIT FIVE:
i was only trying on this dress for Erin
because I thought she'd get a kick out of it,
having put it on over her t-shirt and jeans
when she was here for my birthday this past
summer.
But lo and behold I actually like how it looks
and I "professionaled" it up
with a velvet jacket

these are the shoes:

Well.
What do you think?
I need an outfit for:
1. A formal banquet
2. An officer's reception
what do you like for what and if you can,
please tell why.
thanks a million!!

I vote for outfit two for the officer's event, hands down. For the formal event, I think outfit 1 might be most appropriate due to the old people factor, but truthfully I love the short shiny black dress with the belt and the pink skirt underneath. Very glamorous! You always have the best clothes...I'm totally jealous!

i love the first one (with the belt) for the reception and the third one (with the cardi) for the banquet. i have no reasons behind these choices. i just like them.

p.s. are you going to have time to see your old pal anj while you are in town!?!?!?!?!?

hahahhahahahhaaa!! free time. that's funny. no. i don't have actual lunch breaks. i'm working through luncheons. i have to be there because i'm kind of hosting them or taking tickets for them. i've been told i might not even get to eat during them!!!! and for that reason i'm going to carry a syringe of PURE ENERGY in my underpants the entire time.

Me too. But I do love the floral dress. So much. I dream about it.

I love outfits #2 for the officer's event and #3 for the formal event. I absolutely adore the red dress of #3! I think if you wear that with a very small-sleeved bolero jacket or little sweater, that will look fab. For some reason, I'm thinking this dress might go over well with older folks because it has a retro vibe (like a party dress from the '50s-'60s) ... I've seen people from earlier generations react very positively to styles that resemble those of their era.

But then I just love that dress regardless, lol!
