strange days

well. yesterday did not turn out how i expected!
long story short:
i knew my grandma was taken to the hospital ill on Monday,
but didn't know why, then found out just before work Tuesday
while driving in that they did emergency surgery to
remove her appendix, but she'd also had a stroke,
and she was having trouble breathing because she has COPD.
the hospital initially stated she might not make it.
so i went to fredericksburg to visit her, but when i get there,
the woman is sitting up in a chair and talkin' up a storm
(and by talkin', i also mean cussin').
They are keeping her longer to run tests on her lungs.
She's nearly 81 years old and has been smoking
almost 67 years. And according to her, she never even once
thought about quitting!
I'm really glad I went to visit her.
She's pretty much the bomb diggity.

details:
black dress: old navy
green shirt: newport news
sash: sewn especially for me!
shoes: victoria's secret

up top:
sash (also has a matching skirt somewhere out there):
earrings (claire's):

bracelets (hannah d's):
and the shoes......

tell me you don't LOVE these...
divine! (Colin Stuart for VS)
hump day face:
i'm kindof worn out after all the family dramaz
and driving from here to tarnation yesterday!
and still not fixing my hair.
really glad i went to see my Mama though.

Sorry to hear about your grandmother. I'm glad you went to see her and that she was holding up when you got there. Sometimes you don't know how these things are going to turn out when your relatives are advanced in age. Great look! I like the kitten-heel sandals, I know my feet would be all over the place in those shoes, I would definitely have to wear insoles just to keep my feet in the shoes.

I hope your grandmother is doing better.

On a positive note, I love this outfit, especially the touches of green in the blouse and sash.
